Desklets are widgets that can be arranged over the desktop for a variety of uses like: updates, todo lists, weather, date and time, decorations, system profiling and much more. Desklets can even add images, web pages and text files to the desktop which update automatically when the file changes.
You can display the output from shell scripts as plain text with a variety of styles or HTML, like a mini web page.
Unlike other shell command apps Desklets uses a bundled file format so you can create packaged scripts with multiple resources that are easy to share.
If you’re not a programmer or script savvy, Desklets is still easy to use out of the box and provides an ever expanding library of scripts that don’t require programming experience to customize.
